This week we have had the pleasure of working with the lovely Marina Hosking, who has spent all week with us on work experience. We wanted to get Marina involved in all aspects of our studio to give her a varied and interesting experince here at Red. Keep reading to see what she got up to.
Marina: Excited, driving to Red Creative on my first day, weaving through the small country lanes, being stampeded by a group of hunting dogs, life in the Cotswolds was certainly different to the hustle and bustle of the city life I was used to.
Arriving at the office, everybody was very welcoming and friendly. I got stuck straight in assisting on the ‘Weirdfish’ shoot, prepping, steaming, styling - it was a great insight into how shoots work. Lunch came around quickly, swapping stories with everyone I soon got to learn about the individual’s roles within the company and gain ideas about possible future pathways I could pursue, after finishing my degree at Nottingham Trent University. The next couple of days I carried on styling the menswear ‘Weirdfish’ photo-shoot with Photographer Oliver Webster and Model Albert Mordue.
Thursday, I started work with the design team. I was given a brief working alongside Bethan Healy, Junior Designer for a beauty company out in Saudi Arabia. We started on designing shop windows for their new august range. Visual merchandising has always been of interest to me so it was exciting to be assisting this brief.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Red Creative; it’s been a very valuable learning experience. But it's not over yet - I am looking forward to this afternoon, working on a lookbook brief for Apricot - a fashion brand I am very familiar with and love. It will be sad to be leaving the team but hopefully we'll meet again in future.
Thank you Red!
